🤿 What this is — and what I need from you

Straight up: this is one guy. Me. No company, no team, no funding. I got tired of burning an hour and a half every weekend texting people “is it blown out?” and arguing about where to dive — so I built the thing I wanted to exist.

The goal is a one-stop shop for divers, anywhere in the world: conditions, hazards, entries, parking, tank fills, shops, photos, and real diver reports — all in one place. Whether it's your Tuesday shore dive or a reef you're flying halfway around the world to see, you shouldn't need five browser tabs and a group chat to figure out if it's worth going.

What's running right now

  • 1,567 dive sites worldwide. Every pin is a real site.
  • A diveability score for each, 1–10, rebuilt every hour. Live swell height, swell period, swell direction, wind, water temp and weather — scored against how each individual cove sits on the coast. A south swell that wrecks one Laguna cove barely touches the one next door, and the engine knows the difference.
  • Groundswell surge modeling. A 3 ft / 16 sec groundswell will beat you up on an entry a 3 ft / 8 sec wind swell wouldn't even ripple. That's weighted in.
  • Live NOAA tides — 140+ real-time stations, modeled everywhere else.
  • 7-day outlook + hour-by-hour charts, so you can pick your window instead of just your day.
  • California health advisories for freshwater sites.

Wherever you dive — you're welcome here

The map is worldwide, and I want the community to be too. I'm based in SoCal, so that's where I can personally go stand on the rocks and verify things — but that's a limitation, not the mission.

If you dive Thailand, Egypt, Mexico, the Med, the Caribbean, Indonesia, the UK, Australia — anywhere — your local knowledge is the thing a visiting diver can't get anywhere else. Which entry is actually safe at low tide. Which shop fills nitrox. Which month the viz goes to hell. That stuff doesn't exist in any forecast model; it only lives in the heads of people who dive there.

And it works the other way too: if you're planning a trip, this is meant to be where you scout it — see what the conditions actually do at a spot before you book, and read what divers who live there had to say.

Please push back on the score

The engine measures what it can measure — swell, wind, temp, weather. It has no idea what the viz actually is, whether there's an algae bloom, or whether a spot is blown out in a way the models missed.

So if the card says 8 and you're standing there looking at a 3 — tell me. That's not complaining, that's the most valuable thing you can give me. Enough real reports and I can tune the model against what divers actually found instead of what the math predicted. That loop is the whole point.

How you can help

  • 🤿 Report conditions after a dive — viz, temp, surge. No signup, 20 seconds.
  • 📷 Add photos. Loads of sites have none. Entry, stairs and parking shots are worth more to a stranger than a pretty fish.
  • ✏️ Fix what I got wrong — hazards, compass headings, depths, parking, shops. I've never dived most of these sites. You have.
  • 📍 Add a site that's missing.
  • 💬 Tell me what stinks. Broken, confusing, wrong — I read every one.

What's coming

More write-ups, more photos, and dive shop listings with real air and nitrox pricing. SoCal and Florida will fill in first simply because that's where I can verify things myself — every other corner of the map fills in as fast as divers there help me fill it.

No login. No cost. No ads. Just a tool I wanted, that I figured some of you wanted too.
Go break it and tell me what broke. 🤿
